How can our minors inform our future occupational opportunities within the Education & Training career cluster?

Lonnie King
My Special Education minor can give me a deeper understanding of how to adapt and support teaching students’ special needs. It can give me the knowledge for students who need to learn in an alternative learning setting. Knowing special education can give me different ways to teach students in general education who need alternative learning and more support.

My minor in Business Administration will be helpful for my future as a special education teacher. It will give me skills in managing resources, understanding organizational dynamics, and communicating effectively with parents and colleagues. I can use these skills to develop programs and create a supportive classroom environment for students with special needs. By blending what I learn in business with my passion for teaching, I hope to help all my students thrive and succeed.

My Psychology minor can give me a deeper understanding of how to connect one on one with young children. Insight into who they are and how they interact with people can give me a better sense of how they learn. I can use my resources and skills to help assess needs, assist with providing support for counseling services, help promote positive behavior, and dig deeper into how a child learns based upon all the learning styles
